Kids are our future!
We want to work with parents and caregivers to help them equip their kids to take their place in God’s world. We work hard to lead kids into a living relationship with Jesus that is worked out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. While our programmes are entertaining and fun, we want their faith to be alive so that they experience God’s word and see it working in their lives and impacting their homes, neighbourhoods and the world for the extension of God’s kingdom.
Crèche:
Crèche is a fun, safe place for our littlies to enjoy once the children of the church are released to their programmes. Our desire is for the children to love coming to church to learn biblical truths through playing and listening to stories. We also see Crèche as an important time for parents, as it gives them the opportunity to relax and focus on the adult side of the service.
- Creche is for approximately 18 months to 4 years (those children who have newly turned 5 are also welcome).
- A typical morning includes free play, colouring-in and mat time.
Mat time is a short fun interactive session which includes a bible or values story, prayer and sometimes a song, followed by rice crackers and water. - Creche is supervised by adults and youth volunteers and is held in the room behind the stage.
Lauree Welford is our creche leader. If you have any questions or would like to be part of our creche volunteer team, please send us an email and we will put you in touch.
Spark:
SPARK Children’s program runs every Sunday throughout the year for children in Years 1 through 6. During school terms we run a biblical based program that seeks to teach children the fundamentals of faith through a fun and interactive curriculum. The program endeavours to mirror the lessons and topics from the church service so that children and parents can learn together and continue the discussion at home.
The program is run by a teaching team of volunteers who are supported by assistants from the church family. Each week the program begins by bringing all the children together for songs, skits and morning tea, before breaking into smaller groups for the main lesson and aged tailored activities.
Children are split into the following age groups:
Group Name School Years Teachers
Sparklets 1 & 2 Ronel Laas / Mary Pithey
Sparkle 3 & 4 Ellie Moe / Deborah Radeka
Spark 5 & 6 Teresa Hooper / Korina Kirk
During the school holidays a more relaxed ‘school holiday’ program is run that
focuses more on enjoying a range of activities together during the break rather
than biblical teaching -this way both children and teachers get to have a break
and refresh!
The SPARK program is led by Korina Kirk who has a real passion for children’s ministry with over 20 years’ experience. If you have questions about the program or would like more information about how your children can get involved, you are welcome to contact Korina on 021 482 286 or email her at korina@metalcorp.co.nz
